Russia to Significantly Raise Export Duties on Sunflower Oil and Meal From September
The duty on sunflower oil will nearly double, while the duty on meal will increase 6.3-fold compared with the August level
Starting in September, Russia will significantly increase export duties on sunflower oil and sunflower meal, according to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
The export duty on sunflower oil will amount to 14,377.7 rubles per tonne, nearly double the August level of 7,748 rubles per tonne.
The duty on sunflower meal will rise even more sharply. In September, it will increase 6.3-fold, from the current August rate of 312.4 rubles to 1,958.8 rubles per tonne.
According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the September rates were calculated based on an indicative sunflower oil price of $1,319.9 per tonne, compared with $1,298.5 per tonne in July. For sunflower meal, the indicative price amounted to $240.3 per tonne, compared with $228 per tonne previously.
