Grain Prices in Kazakhstan Remain Stable Ahead of the New Harvest

Growing interest from China supported the feed flour segment despite generally low market activity

Last week, participants in Kazakhstan’s grain market continued to show restrained trading activity. According to the weekly digest by APK-Inform Asia, most buyers maintained a wait-and-see position ahead of the arrival of grain from the new harvest.

Against this backdrop, prices for food wheat remained largely stable. At the same time, a slight increase was recorded in the feed flour segment due to stronger demand from China.

On the export market, Class 3 wheat was offered at USD 260–270 per tonne on DAP Saryagash terms. Class 4 wheat was priced at USD 245–255 per tonne, while high-protein wheat was offered at USD 285–290 per tonne under the same terms.

Feed barley was assessed at USD 220–225 per tonne on FOB Aktau terms. On the DAP Dostyk/Alashankou route, the price stood at USD 210 per tonne.

On the domestic market, Class 3 wheat was offered at KZT 105,000–110,000 per tonne on EXW terms. Class 4 wheat was priced at KZT 95,000–100,000 per tonne, while feed barley ranged from KZT 87,000 to 93,000 per tonne.
