A new container route for palm oil has been launched through Uzbekistan

The new transport corridor is expected to improve the efficiency of international freight transportation and strengthen the region’s transit potential

JSC Uztemiryulkonteyner has successfully completed the first trial container shipment of palm oil along a new international route passing through Uzbekistan. The project was implemented as part of the company’s efforts to expand the geography of international freight transportation.

According to the company, a 40-foot container loaded with palm oil was transported from Port Klang, Malaysia, to Dushanbe-2 railway station, Tajikistan, via the multimodal transport corridor Malaysia – China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan – Tajikistan. The total distance covered was 10,500 km.

During the first stage of the journey, the cargo was delivered by sea from Port Klang in Malaysia to the Port of Qingdao in China. It then continued by rail through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan before arriving at Dushanbe-2 railway station in Tajikistan.

The total transit time amounted to 32 days, including 15 days for sea transportation and 17 days for rail delivery.

According to JSC Uztemiryulkonteyner, the successful pilot shipment marks an important milestone in the development of a new transport corridor linking Southeast Asia with Central Asia. The company noted that the route will help strengthen the region’s transit potential and improve the efficiency of international logistics chains.
