Kazakhstan's New Crop Grain Exports Exceed Last Year's Volumes
New harvest grain exports rise 14% driven by demand in Central Asia
Kazakhstan is actively increasing its new crop grain exports. The figures speak for themselves. According to information provided by JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy," the country has shipped 1.6 million tons abroad since the beginning of autumn (September 1) through October 19, 2025.
Compared to the same period in 2024, when 1.4 million tons were shipped, the growth registered a notable 14%.
Regional neighbors traditionally remain the main buyers. Countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus have become the locomotive of demand. Uzbekistan stands out in particular, with purchases rising by 41% to 801,000 tons, up from 568,000 last year.
Other countries in the region also increased their imports. Tajikistan raised its volumes by 3.8% (to 245,000 tons from 236,000), while Kyrgyzstan's imports grew 2.6-fold, from 17,000 to 45,000 tons.
The Caucasus is not far behind. Azerbaijan showed significant growth, increasing its import of Kazakh grain 3.4-fold, from 11,000 to 38,000 tons. Afghanistan also remains a major consumer, boosting purchases by 28.6% (from 56,000 to 72,000 tons). Even Turkmenistan showed a 66.7% increase, albeit in smaller absolute numbers (from 3,000 to 5,000 tons).
This data clearly demonstrates high demand for the products of Kazakhstan's agricultural sector and shows that the established logistics corridors to neighboring states are operating stably and effectively.
