📊 Kazakhstan’s Farmers Increased Borrowing by 9.4%  

Almaty leads in loan volumes (196.7 billion tenge), though its figure declined by 6.6%. Astana and North Kazakhstan Region showed the most significant growth (+1.6 times and +17.3%, respectively)

 

As of November 1, 2024, Kazakhstani farmers borrowed a total of 523.2 billion tenge from local banks, a 9.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

Most loans were issued in the national currency — 519 billion tenge, up by 9.3%. Loans in foreign currency amounted to 4.2 billion tenge, showing significant growth of 23.5%.

 

Regional Leaders in Agricultural Borrowing

The largest volume of loans was taken in Almaty, totaling 196.7 billion tenge. However, this figure dropped by 6.6% compared to the previous year. Astana ranked second, with loans totaling 70.1 billion tenge, which is 1.6 times more than the previous year.

 

Among the regions, the top three leaders include:

Akmola Region — 52.8 billion tenge (+1.2 times);

Kostanay Region — 37.7 billion tenge (-5.9%);

North Kazakhstan Region — 28.5 billion tenge (+17.3%).

 

Regions with the Lowest Borrowing Volumes

The smallest loan volumes were recorded in the Ulytau Region, where farmers borrowed only 1.2 billion tenge, although this is still 1.4 times more than the previous year. In the Mangystau Region, loans totaled 2.1 billion tenge, showing a growth of 31.25%.
