Kazhydromet Forecasts High Sunflower Yields in Several Regions of Kazakhstan

The preliminary forecast is based on calculations that take into account current and expected agrometeorological conditions

Kazhydromet has released its preliminary forecast for sunflower yields in Kazakhstan for 2026. According to preliminary calculations and taking into account the current and expected agrometeorological conditions, sunflower yields are expected to exceed long-term average levels in several regions of the country.

In Kostanay Region, above-average yields are forecast for the Altynsarin, Karabalyk, Karasu, Kostanay, Mendykara districts, as well as the Beimbet Mailin District. In the remaining districts of the region, yields are expected to remain close to the long-term average.

In Pavlodar Region, sunflower yields are projected to be in line with long-term average values.

In Abai Region, above-average yields are expected in the Borodulikha District, while the Kokpekty and Urzhar districts are forecast to remain at long-term average levels.

In East Kazakhstan Region, sunflower yields are expected to exceed long-term averages in most districts. The only exception is the Ulan District, where yields are projected to remain close to the long-term average.
