KTZ Launches First Multimodal Fertilizer Shipment to the United Kingdom
The cargo is transported via the Trans-Caspian route through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia
JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has organized its first multimodal shipment of mineral fertilizers from Ekibastuz to the United Kingdom. The transportation is carried out along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), combining rail and sea transport.
The cargo travels across Kazakhstan, crosses the Caspian Sea, and continues through Azerbaijan and Georgia. The fertilizers are then shipped by sea from the ports of Poti and Batumi to the Port of Felixstowe in the United Kingdom.
KTZ continues to expand the geography of its international freight transportation. Earlier, the company also organized an export shipment of Kazakh products on the Ekibastuz–Miami route.
Currently, the national railway operator provides cargo transportation to the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, and several other countries.
The implementation of such routes helps strengthen Kazakhstan's position as one of Eurasia's key transport and logistics hubs.
