Prodcorporation to Allocate Up to KZT 65.7 Billion to Support Farmers in 2026

The funds will be used for direct agricultural procurement, forward financing, and replenishment of the country's state grain reserves

In 2026, JSC NC Food Contract Corporation will continue its large-scale financial support for agricultural producers. By the end of the first half of the year, the national operator had already transferred 51.6 billion tenge to farms. After the fulfillment of forward contracts and final payments for delivered products, the total funding could increase to 65.7 billion tenge.

A significant portion of the funds is provided from the Food Contract Corporation's own working capital. State funds previously allocated to increasing the company's authorized capital are now being used through a revolving mechanism, allowing them to be redirected to farmers after contracts are fulfilled and agricultural products are sold.

As Asylkhan Dzhuvashev, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Food Contract Corporation, noted, this approach ensures annual support for agricultural producers and allows for the expansion of funding without the need for additional budgetary funds.

The funds recycled are being used to implement the most popular support tools: the direct procurement program for agricultural products and forward financing for spring field work.

Under the direct procurement program, farmers supplied the Food Corporation with 191,800 tons of grain and oilseed crops, more than double the 92,900 tons purchased last year. A total of 257 agricultural producers submitted orders for the supply of wheat, barley, sunflower, and flaxseed. Under the contracts signed, the national operator transferred 20.3 billion tenge to farmers.

Another 172 agricultural enterprises participated in the forward financing program for spring field work, signing contracts for the supply of 471,000 tons of grain and oilseed products. Farms in the Akmola, North Kazakhstan, and Kostanay regions will primarily supply third-class wheat, while farmers in the Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions will supply sunflower seeds. The Food Corporation allocated 31.3 billion tenge for advance payments this spring, and taking into account final settlements after the harvest, the funding volume will exceed 40 billion tenge.

The forward program also facilitates increased production of high-margin crops. While forward contracts envisaged the delivery of 36,000 tons of sunflower, oilseed flax, and rapeseed in 2025, this figure has almost tripled in 2026, reaching 94,900 tons. After the harvest, agricultural producers plan to supply 37,800 tons of sunflower seeds, 51,500 tons of oilseed flax, and 5,600 tons of rapeseed.

The Food Corporation notes that direct procurement and forward financing mechanisms simultaneously provide farmers with accessible financial resources and replenish the country's strategic reserves. Annual purchases replenish state grain reserves, create a forage fund for livestock and poultry farming, and create grain reserves for flour mills and other processing plants.
