Agricultural products became a driver of Kazakhstan’s export growth to OTS countries

The growth in trade turnover was driven by supplies of value-added products, development of cooperation, and expansion of export chains among member states

The countries of the Organization of Turkic States continue to strengthen their positions as some of the most promising and fast-growing export destinations for Kazakhstan. This was stated by Aitmukhammed Aldazharov, CEO of QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center JSC, during the business forum “Economic Integration and Cooperation of OTS Countries: New Opportunities in Industry, Agriculture, Logistics and Digitalization” held in Astana.

According to QazTrade, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with OTS countries reached 12.9 billion US dollars in 2025, increasing by 13.2% compared to the previous year. Kazakhstan’s exports during this period grew by 19.9% and amounted to 9.49 billion US dollars.

The main contribution to growth came from exports of value-added products. Key export items included wheat, sunflower oil, metal products, confectionery, processed food products, and mineral water.

“Our task is not only to increase export volumes, but also to build sustainable export chains in which Kazakhstan acts as a reliable partner with consistently high-quality products,” Aitmukhammed Aldazharov noted.

During the forum, participants also discussed prospects for creating a unified cooperation platform for OTS countries. The platform could become a practical mechanism for cooperation among manufacturers, farmers, processing enterprises, logistics operators, retail chains, and investors.

QazTrade emphasized that further development of cooperation between OTS countries should be based not only on expanding trade, but also on creating joint infrastructure, implementing unified digital solutions, coordinating logistics approaches, and strengthening sustainable production ties.
