Uzbekistan to Strengthen the Development of the Feed Base for Livestock Farming
The new agency will be responsible for developing feed production, increasing livestock numbers, and supporting the processing industry
Uzbekistan has approved regulatory and legal documents defining the operating procedures of the Agency for the Development of Livestock and Pasture Farming under the Ministry of Agriculture. The relevant Resolution No. 426 of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted on July 31, 2026.
The new agency was established in accordance with Presidential Resolution No. PP-179 dated May 12, 2026, on the basis of the Committee for the Development of Veterinary Services and Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture. Its responsibilities include increasing the number of farm animals, developing the feed base, and supporting enterprises engaged in processing livestock products.
According to the approved document, starting with the 2027 harvest, feed crops may be planted on 50% of the land belonging to agricultural organizations designated for growing cotton and cereal crops.
The resolution was published in Uzbekistan’s National Database of Legislation and entered into force on August 1, 2026.
