Prices for Several Essential Food Products Declined in Kazakhstan Over the Past Week

Vegetables, eggs, sunflower oil, fish, and kefir became cheaper

Kazakhstan recorded weekly deflation in socially significant food products. According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, citing data from the Bureau of National Statistics, the price index for socially significant food products stood at 99.9% during the period from June 24 to July 1, 2026.

During the reporting week, prices decreased for seven product categories. Tomato prices fell by 8.5%, cucumbers by 8.3%, eggs by 1.5%, apples by 1.1%, fresh, chilled and frozen fish by 0.4%, sunflower oil by 0.2%, and kefir by 0.1%. Meanwhile, prices for rice, bread, and milk remained unchanged, with the price index staying at 100.0%.

Price increases were recorded for 21 product categories. Cabbage posted the largest increase, rising by 7.9%. Onion and potatoes each became 1.9% more expensive, while sugar increased by 1.6%. Prices for all other products rose by less than 1%.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration also reminded that memorandums aimed at stabilizing prices for tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, sunflower oil, and beef remain in force across Kazakhstan.
