Kazakhstan Nears Completion of Winter Grain Harvest, 1.3 Million Tonnes Collected

More than 10.8 million tonnes of available grain storage capacity prepared to receive the new harvest

Kazakhstan is nearing the completion of its winter grain harvesting campaign. According to operational data from regional administrations, the average yield stands at 19.1 centners per hectare, while the total grain harvest has reached 1.3 million tonnes. Of this amount, 890.4 thousand tonnes are wheat. Regional authorities report that 99% of grain and oilseed crops are in good or satisfactory condition. The figures were presented during a meeting chaired by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.

To ensure the uninterrupted reception of the new harvest, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with regional administrations and the Food Contract Corporation, is working to free up grain storage capacities.

According to the Qoldau.kz portal, licensed grain storage facilities currently hold 2.4 million tonnes of grain, while 10.8 million tonnes of storage capacity remain available. This is sufficient to receive the new harvest without restrictions.

To support seasonal field operations, the Ministry of Energy allocated 401 thousand tonnes of subsidized diesel fuel to farmers. In addition, 1.9 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers have already been delivered to agricultural producers.

A total of KZT 750 billion has been allocated under the concessional lending program for spring fieldwork and harvesting. To date, farmers have utilized more than KZT 641 billion of these funds.
