High Corn Yields Expected in Several Regions of Kazakhstan

In some districts, corn yields may exceed long-term average levels

Kazhydromet has released its preliminary forecast for grain corn yields in Kazakhstan for 2026. Based on preliminary calculations and taking into account the current and expected agrometeorological conditions, corn yields in several regions of the country are expected to remain at or exceed long-term average levels.

In the Zhetysu Region, above-average yields are forecast in the Eskeldi and Karatal districts, while yields in the Panfilov District are expected to remain close to the long-term average.

In the Almaty Region, preliminary estimates indicate that corn yields will be at or above long-term average levels.

In the Zhambyl Region, above-average yields are expected in the Sarysu and Baizak districts. In the Kordai, Merke, Zhambyl, and Shu districts, yields are forecast to remain at long-term average levels.

In the Turkistan Region, corn yields are expected to remain close to long-term averages in most districts. At the same time, the Ordabasy and Shardara districts are projected to record above-average yields.
