The harvest campaign for early vegetable crops has begun in the Sairam District of the Turkestan Region. Local agricultural producers have started harvesting onions while simultaneously completing preparations for the large-scale cabbage harvest.

Vegetable production traditionally plays an important role in the district’s agricultural sector. This season, 900 hectares have been allocated for onion cultivation. With an expected average yield of 28 tons per hectare, total production is projected to reach approximately 25.2 thousand tons.

Cabbage has been planted on 616 hectares. According to preliminary estimates, the average yield is expected to reach 237 centners per hectare, allowing farmers to harvest around 14.6 thousand tons of produce.

At present, agricultural enterprises are completing the preparation of harvesting equipment and logistics infrastructure, while also recruiting the required number of seasonal workers for the harvest campaign.

According to farmers, favorable weather conditions combined with timely agricultural practices have contributed to the formation of a strong vegetable crop.

The region continues its systematic efforts to develop vegetable farming. Particular attention is being paid to the introduction of modern cultivation technologies, increasing productivity, and improving the efficiency of agricultural production.
