Astyk Trans Supports Reduced Railway Tariffs for Wheat Transportation

The new tariff conditions will help domestic flour milling and bakery enterprises reduce the cost of transporting grain by rail

Starting from June 27, 2026, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) introduced a reduction coefficient of 0.3, providing a 70% discount on tariffs for main railway network and locomotive traction services used for domestic transportation of socially significant food products, as well as wheat supplied to domestic flour milling and bakery enterprises.

The preferential tariff applies to wheat shipments (ETSNG code 011005) destined for the following railway stations: Atyrau, Beineu, Aktau-Port, Beles, Zhilayevo, Kyzylorda, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Kostanay, Petropavlovsk, Aktobe-1, Astana-1, Atbasar, Pavlodar, Turkistan, Shymkent, Almaty-1, Iliyskaya, Taldykorgan, Chemolgan, Taraz, Semey, and Ust-Kamenogorsk.

Astyk Trans JSC announced its support for the initiative and confirmed that it will maintain its current rates for providing grain hopper wagons on the designated wheat transportation routes.

According to the company, the combination of KTZ's reduction coefficient and unchanged wagon provision rates will lower the total railway transportation cost by 15–40%, depending on the transportation distance.

Astyk Trans also noted that it has supported Kazakhstan's flour milling industry for many years by offering minimum rates for grain hopper wagons used in domestic wheat transportation.
