Kazakhstan Increases Exports of Flaxseed Oil to Japan

Flaxseed oil exports strengthen Kazakhstan’s presence in Asian markets

Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position in premium Asian markets. Dynastiya Agro has signed a strategic agreement with the Japanese holding Fairway Jateco Group, providing for a multiple increase in exports of flaxseed oil. The document was signed during the official visit of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Tokyo.

According to the agreement, supplies of Kazakhstani products to Japan will increase to 3,000 tonnes. It should be noted that cooperation between the two companies has been ongoing for four years; however, until now exports were limited to shipments of several hundred tonnes. The new contract indicates that the partnership has entered a qualitatively new stage.

According to Dmitry Kim, a representative of Dynastiya Agro, the key competitive advantages of the domestic product in the Japanese market are its natural composition and high quality. The company expects that participation in the QazTrade-2025 export acceleration program, along with support from state institutions, will allow it not only to consolidate its presence in Japan but also to expand the brand’s footprint in the region.

QazTrade notes stable global demand for flaxseed oil, describing flax as one of the most promising crops for building a deep value-added production chain.

Ainur Amirbekova, Managing Director of QazTrade, emphasized that in addition to the Japanese vector, the producer is actively developing the market of the People’s Republic of China. Within the framework of the acceleration program, a detailed export roadmap was developed for the company, and in-depth niche analytics were conducted.

An important milestone was targeted assistance in navigating bureaucratic procedures: in 2025, the enterprise was successfully included in the register of importers of the General Administration of Customs of the PRC, opening access to the Chinese consumer market.

The deal with Japanese partners reflects the overall growth trend of Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports. According to analysts, over the first ten months of 2025 (January–October), Kazakhstan’s exports of agricultural products reached $5.55 billion. Growth compared to the same period last year amounted to an impressive 37.9%, confirming the high potential of the sector in foreign markets.
