Loans at 5% Per Annum: Support Program for Cattle and Small Livestock Feedlots Launched

Loan Terms for Feedlot Enterprises

A large-scale program to support feedlots for cattle and small ruminants is being launched in Kazakhstan: in 2025, the industry will be able to receive preferential loans at a minimal interest rate. This initiative comes from the Ministry of Agriculture together with the Agrarian Credit Corporation and with active support from the Government.

The new loan program allocates approximately 50 billion tenge this year. The main goal is to help enterprises engaged in fattening cattle and small ruminants strengthen their working capital and improve production efficiency.

Recipients will be able to apply for loans with a term of up to one year at an annual rate of 5%. Only enterprises whose main activity is cattle fattening and who have all the necessary production infrastructure will be eligible for financing.

One of the key conditions of the program is the requirement to sell at least half of the fattened livestock to domestic meat processing enterprises. In this way, the government aims to stimulate the development of the domestic market and ensure the loading of local processing facilities.

For Kazakhstan, where livestock farming has traditionally played a significant role in the economy, such support measures can become a key factor in the growth of the sector and increase the competitiveness of domestic meat.
