Expectations of the New Harvest Continue to Restrain Kazakhstan’s Grain Exports
Despite Weak Export Activity, Demand Remains Stable in the Feed Flour Segment
Kazakhstan's grain market continued to show low trading activity last week. Buyers in foreign markets largely adopted a wait-and-see approach ahead of the arrival of the new harvest, putting pressure on export demand and limiting shipment volumes.
According to analysts, export prices for Grade 3 wheat remained at USD 260–270 per ton DAP Saryagash. Grade 4 wheat was offered at USD 250–260 per ton. High-protein wheat was quoted at USD 285–290 per ton DAP Saryagash, although no significant increase in buyer activity was observed.
Export trade in the barley segment also remained subdued. Prices in the FOB Aktau direction were maintained at USD 250–255 per ton, while shipments to China were priced at around USD 240 per ton DAP Dostyk/Alashankou.
Meanwhile, the domestic market recorded a slight increase in prices due to the limited supply of high-quality grain. Grade 3 wheat traded at KZT 100,000–105,000 per ton EXW, while barley prices stood at KZT 90,000–95,000 per ton EXW.
The feed flour segment continued to benefit from steady demand from Chinese buyers. Export prices for feed flour were reported at USD 250–255 per ton DAP Alashankou.
