Grain supplies to Iran temporarily suspended

Restrictions affect agricultural and food sector cooperation

Kazakhstan has temporarily suspended a number of joint projects with Iran, including grain supplies and cooperation in food trade. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman Isetov.

According to him, the restrictions have affected several areas of bilateral cooperation. Among those suspended are grain exports, as well as projects related to mutual food product supplies.

As the deputy minister noted, the decision is due to the current situation, as Iran is under a state of military conditions. In this regard, Kazakh businesses and entrepreneurs have taken a wait-and-see approach and are temporarily refraining from active operations within previously implemented initiatives.
