Agro-insurance subsidy program launched in Kazakhstan

The state compensates up to 80% of insurance premiums to reduce risks in crop and livestock production

Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC has announced the start of accepting applications for subsidizing part of insurance premiums under voluntary insurance contracts in the agro-industrial complex. The program was launched on April 16, 2026, and is aimed at reducing financial risks for agricultural producers.

The support mechanism applies to farmers who insure production risks in crop and livestock sectors. Under the program, the state compensates up to 80% of the insurance premium, while farmers cover the remaining 20%. According to the corporation, this model increases the affordability of insurance and encourages its wider use in the sector.

Agricultural producers can insure spring crops against excess soil moisture, perennial plantations including apple orchards, as well as farm animals such as cattle, small ruminants, horses, pigs, and poultry.

Application deadlines vary depending on the type of insurance. For insuring spring crops against excessive moisture, applications are accepted until June 30, 2026, while for perennial crops — until October 31, 2026.

Applications are submitted online through the agro-insurance information system hosted on the Kezekte.kz platform. The corporation notes that digitalization simplifies access to state support measures and accelerates the process of concluding insurance contracts.

It is expected that the program will increase the resilience of agricultural production and reduce the impact of adverse natural factors on the financial performance of agricultural enterprises.
