Kazakhstan Increases Production of Combines and Tractors

In 2024, Kazakhstan's agricultural machinery industry showed significant growth. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the production of grain harvesters reached 1,088 units, reflecting a 3.2% increase compared to the previous year. The production of tractors also grew, with 6,421 units manufactured, an 18.9% rise from 5,402 units in 2023. The country's machine-building sector strengthened its position, demonstrating a 9.7% growth, with 320 active enterprises in the industry.

New Factories and Investment Projects
The sector's development continues with the launch of new production facilities. According to QazIndustry, three new enterprises in agricultural machinery manufacturing began operations in 2024, with a total investment of 5.7 billion tenge. These plants specialize in producing self-propelled machines, mounted and trailed equipment, irrigation systems, deep tillers, and other agricultural machinery.
Additionally, five new projects are under development with a combined investment of 18.4 billion tenge, focusing on the production of combines, tractors, heavy harrows, grain trucks, and other machinery. Most of the manufactured equipment is aimed at the domestic market, ensuring farmers have access to modern machinery and reducing dependence on imports.

Preferential Leasing Programs for Agricultural Machinery
To support farmers, KazAgroFinance JSC started accepting applications for preferential leasing of agricultural machinery in late February 2025. The total financing volume is 10.5 billion tenge, offered at 6% per annum for up to 10 years. The funds are distributed among three programs:
• "Made in Kazakhstan": 5 billion tenge allocated for the purchase of domestic mounted, trailed, and self-propelled agricultural equipment, requiring a 15% down payment.
• "Own Feeds": 3 billion tenge designated for purchasing fodder harvesting equipment and mobile irrigation systems, including both local and imported machinery, with a 15% down payment.
• "Preferential Leasing": 2.5 billion tenge allocated for acquiring domestic self-propelled agricultural machinery with no down payment required.
Applications are accepted via the official KazAgroFinance Telegram bot (@kaz_agro_finance_bot). After submission, applicants must provide a full set of documents to the relevant KazAgroFinance branch within five working days.
These programs aim to modernize Kazakhstan’s agricultural machinery fleet, improve productivity, and enhance the resilience of the agricultural sector.
Experts highlight that the combination of increased agricultural machinery production and accessible leasing programs is accelerating the modernization of Kazakhstan’s agribusiness, improving crop yields and farming efficiency. Investments in machine-building and farmer support confirm the sector’s strategic importance for the country’s economy.

Key Takeaways:
Growth in agricultural machinery manufacturing: Kazakhstan has increased the production of combines and tractors, strengthening its machine-building industry.
New factories and investment projects: New production facilities are opening, and large-scale projects are being implemented to produce agricultural machinery for the domestic market.
Support for farmers: Preferential leasing programs provide access to agricultural equipment on favorable terms with a simplified application process.
