Grain and Legume Stocks in Kazakhstan as of September 1, 2024  

 

On September 1, 2024, the total grain and legume stocks in Kazakhstan amounted to 8.21 million tons. Compared to the same period in 2023, when the stocks reached 8.4 million tons, there is a slight decrease. However, the current figure significantly exceeds the data from August 1, 2024, when stocks were 5.83 million tons. This information is reported by the National Bureau of Statistics.

 

Wheat remains the country's primary cereal crop. As of early September, wheat stocks amounted to 6.21 million tons, which is lower than last year's 6.52 million tons. Out of the total wheat, 5.39 million tons are intended for food use, 743.7 thousand tons for fodder needs, and 134 thousand tons allocated for seed purposes.

 

Barley also shows stable stocks. As of September 1, there were 1.36 million tons of barley available, slightly below the 1.39 million tons recorded on September 1, 2023.

 

Corn showed a notable increase in stocks. As of the specified date, Kazakhstan had approximately 59 thousand tons of corn, significantly surpassing last year's figure of 44 thousand tons on September 1, 2023.
