Around 2 trillion tenge to be allocated for agribusiness support in Kazakhstan in 2026–2028
A gradual transition from commodity-specific subsidies to concessional lending mechanisms is also planned
Kazakhstan plans to allocate approximately 2 trillion tenge to support the agro-industrial complex in 2026–2028. The funds are предусмотрены within general transfers, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said in response to a parliamentary inquiry.
According to him, the financing will be used to implement existing subsidy measures, while part of the resources will be directed toward the phased repayment of accumulated debts from previous years.
The head of government уточнил that the current total debt on subsidies to agricultural producers amounts to about 341 billion tenge. Of this amount, 169 billion tenge accounts for subsidizing interest rates on credit obligations.
He also noted that, subject to available budgetary capacity, the issue of reducing the debt will be addressed through the redistribution of already approved budget funds and revenues of local budgets.
In addition, the Prime Minister recalled that a phased transition from commodity-specific subsidies to concessional lending mechanisms is planned. The transition to the new model of support for the agro-industrial complex is expected to be completed by January 1, 2029.
